International Recruiting Costs Increase And Overall Budgets Decrease
Basic travel costs to Asia have gone up and strain a school's ability to reach out to potential new students on a personal level
Educational service providers (agents) remain a prevalent practice, but are incomplete solutions. Multiple contracts with other schools in and out of the US, along with differing commission rates mean your school is probably not being equally represented.
Hosted recruiting tours provide good access to the region, but are expensive and usually include locations that are not first choices for every school. Major providers tend to charge an average of $1,000+ per day for their services and that excludes a school's costs for airfare, hotel/food and employee pay.
Worst of all, in almost all cases the leads generated from agents and tours are not exclusive to your school.
